La Rose Blanche is a study in contrast rendered entirely by hand in oil — a single rose, sculpted in thick, luminous relief, emerging from a ground of turbulent black and grey as though the flower itself has refused to be consumed by the dark around it. Each petal is built up in generous, sweeping strokes of pure white pigment, layered until the bloom becomes almost three-dimensional — part painting, part sculpture, entirely commanding.

The darkness does not diminish the rose. It makes it inevitable.
